Linda Blair
At the age of five, Linda Blair had to become comfortable in the spotlight. Initially, she was child models and later as an actor, after out of 600 applicants she was selected for the part as Regan, the possessed child and actress in The Exorcist (1973). Linda Blair rose quickly to fame, and she won an award called the Golden Globe. She was likely to win the Academy Award. But when it was revealed that certain part of her roles were recorded as well as that a stunt-dummy performed just eight seconds, the whole idea fell apart. Through the years she didn't have any trouble getting the lead role in a range of movies, including the highly successful television films Born Innocent (1974) (the number one TV show of that year) and Sarah T. - Portrait of a Teenage Alcoholic (1975) and an Exorcist sequel Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977). When she bought cocaine under social pressure when she was 18 this resulted in being arrested and sentenced to three years of probation. Linda's work in Hollywood had been reduced to B films, and occasionally television appearances, including her well-publicized arrest on drugs possession.
